It should be your choice of the lawyer you should use, but we strongly recommend that your lawyer has legal status and local presence in Budapest. We have created a number of relationships with legal firms in Budapest, ranging from local specialists to global legal firms (we have solicitors who speak fluently major languages such as English, French, Spanish & German, and established discounted rates with these. We will not gain in any way financially if you choose one of these solicitors. Your solicitor should advise you of the best vehicle to use to purchase a property whether as an individual or through a company. The solicitor should execute the process to gain permission to buy or establish the company. Finally the solicitor should ensure safe title (including outstanding charges on the title), draw up the contract and manage the exchange of monies.
Financial services – we offer a number of financial services to enable you to purchase your property, meet local accounting regulations for letting and collecting and repatriating rent. We have established relationships with a number of banks in Budapest who can manage you finances here and have efficient money transfer processes for sending money into Hungary and repatriating it. Additionally we can broker a mortgage or commercial loan in a number of currencies including Swiss Franc, British Pound and Euro to aid your purchase with a number of institutions. In addition to the Banks here there are a number of third party specialists who enable you to either hedge or transfer money into the Banking system, such as HiFX. If you have established a company to transact your property business in Budapest you will need to provide tax returns quarterly and annually, we have established relationships with a number of accountants who will execute the processes to do this at discounted rates. These accountants will also help manage the tax authorities on your behalf for any rental income you receive and when you sell your property at a profit.
